On Forbes Avenue, twenty-four hours.
Call the chapel at any hour.
The line at (412) 555-0179 is answered around the clock by Daniel, by Hadassah in the office, or — when neither can — by the rabbi-on-call from the chevra kadisha. We do not use an answering service. The voice you reach is a member of the firm or the community.
For non-urgent matters, you may write to office@sanctuary.mainstaysites.com. We read the inbox at the start of each business day.
Forbes Avenue street parking is available all day, and the JCC garage at 5738 Forbes (two blocks east) has hourly rates. There are three reserved family spaces directly behind the chapel; ask at the office when you arrive.
The chapel, the restrooms, and the family parlor are wheelchair-accessible. A hearing-loop system is installed in the chapel. The chevra kadisha preparation room has level access from the rear courtyard. A ramp at the rear entrance leads into the family room.
Port Authority Bus 61C and 71D both stop within two blocks of the chapel on Forbes Avenue. The 64 stops at the corner of Forbes and Murray. The Squirrel Hill T station is fifteen minutes' walk; we can arrange transportation for the elderly if requested.
Rabbis we work with most often.
If your family does not have a rabbi or does not have one immediately reachable, the rabbis below are clergy Sanctuary has worked with for years across Pittsburgh's congregations. We can put you in touch on short notice. There is no preference among them on our part; the family chooses.
